How’s the US Legal Landscape looking?

Acritas held another very successful Managing Partner Dinner in London last week with guest speaker Aric Press, Vice President, Editor in Chief, ALM.

The event was exceptionally well attended with representatives from Allen  & Overy; Ashurst; Herbert Smith; Linklaters; Mayer Brown; Nabarro; Norton Rose; Osborne Clarke; Pinsent Masons; SJ Berwin and Taylor Wessing all keen to hear how the US legal landscape is looking.

Before Dinner Lisa Hart, Acritas’ CEO, shared data from our global sharplegal study, showing how the US plays such a key role in the international legal market before drilling into the US specific dataset, revealing which US firms have a commanding share of the market for high value work and interesting market trends.

Aric then shared with everyone the latest financial highlights of the AMLaw200 survey, enhanced by his unrivalled market knowledge after 12 years as editor in chief of The American Lawyer magazine.

Over dinner conversations developed around the massive opportunities in the current market and who is winning the revenue and market share war. US organizations definitely have huge international needs which is great news for the UK market. But US law firms still dominate the market share of work in the legal market. Is the only way to secure these opportunities mergers and alliances?
