Acritas is rolling out a professional development training program for attorneys in the energy sector globally, in response to a heightened demand from law firms for a deeper understanding of the Energy sector and the rapidly changing needs of in-house legal departments. This training will disclose Acritas’ research findings from 196 energy sector GCs and senior corporate counsel globally from the last 12 months, to help develop skills attorneys in the Energy sector need in order to confidently manage client relationships and secure more future clients.
The program is delivered as a half day workshop and has been designed to upskill and enhance attorneys’ knowledge on what the biggest spending clients in the energy sector are impressed by and what drives their loyalty, through market intelligence generated by Acritas’ Sharplegal study.
One senior corporate counsel in the energy sector told us in our Sharplegal study that they are favorable to one firm in particular because of its “understanding of our target market; they have a very specialized knowledge of the energy sector.” This was echoed globally; with another energy sector GC confirming that their preferred firm “understands the energy business and they have a wide range of services. You can take any question to them.”
The content for the workshop will include what energy sector clients value most from their lawyers, what clients mean by “value” and how to improve the perception of value, what additional skills clients are looking for in their attorneys and where clients forecast an increase in legal spend in the next 12 months.
Elizabeth Duffy, US Vice President is delivering the program in the Americas, while Susan Pettit, Director is delivering this in the UK.
