IS YOUR LAW FIRM CRUSHING OR CULTIVATING ITS LAWYERS?

Happy lawyers create happy clients. At the highest level, recent findings have revealed a strong correlation between high engagement levels internally and higher satisfaction levels with clients externally. Similar links have been proven in other industries, but thesefindings certainly add significant extra weight to arguments for ensuring both your people and your clients are having a satisfactory brand experience.

Our global GC survey, Sharplegal, revealed that when, in the eyes of the client, firms had a Star Lawyer  they were awarded, on average, an 11% higher performance score and delivered twice the average share of their spend to the firm.

BLAKES NAMED AS STRONGEST CANADIAN LAW FIRM BRAND FOR SECOND YEAR RUNNING

Released on April 3rd, Acritas’ Canadian Brand Index 2017 revealed Blake, Cassels & Graydon (Blakes) is Canada’s strongest law firm brand for the second year in a row and the third time in six years. This year, Blakes strengthened its lead to a 15 point gap – the largest since our first Index in 2012.

In addition to revealing this year’s top 10 strongest Canadian law firm brands, based on top of mind brand awareness, favorability, consideration and usage across Canada in our Brand Index webinar, Liz Tate and Lizzy Duffy explored the client forces at play in the market today which are responsible for helping or hindering a firm’s success: pressure on spend, demand for more commercial solutions and the positive impact of increasing diversity in the client team.

You can watch the webinar and Lizzy’s full-length interview with Rob Granatstein, Firm Managing Partner of Blakes at our Your Tube channel now.

52% OF UK GCs SAY BREXIT WILL CAUSE STRATEGIC CHANGE TO THEIR ORGANIZATIONS

Before the recent triggering of Article 50 by Theresa May, our February report revealed the anticipated impact of Brexit from the GC perspective. 29% of GCs in global organizations said their organization would face changes to their structure or strategy as a result of Brexit. This rises to 37% for those multinationals with legal needs in the UK and 52% among those based in the UK. While 49% felt it was too early to tell what the specifics of the changes would be, a further 49% believed there would be negative consequences for their businesses. Only 2% believed that something positive would come of the UK withdrawal from European Union.
