An independent study was commissioned by an accountancy firm to gather detailed and robust insight into the trends within the international business restructuring market. Thirty interviews were conducted via telephone depth with senior respondents in international law firms, banks and other financial institutions.
One of the aims was to generate unbiased and objective feedback on the perceived positioning of key players within the market and to therefore establish an understanding of the sponsor’s own relative position. Another key objective was to establish the thought processes behind the selection of external providers of business restructuring services and interim management, and to be able to split the criteria by referrer group.
The findings were used to reposition the firm in the market, to position it as a leader, to capitalise on the opportunities presented in the market and to engage with new prospects through sharing the findings.
