Michael has been Deputy Group General Counsel of Barclays since November 2009 and also became acting General Counsel for the Global Retail Bank division from March 2010.
Prior to working at Barclays, Michael was a corporate partner at law firm Herbert Smith where he worked for 17 years. During this period in his career history Michael was seconded as Secretary to The Panel on Takeovers & Mergers two years. Michael has also spent four years working at Magic Circle law firm, Clifford Chance.
